When did the Manhattan church become Jewish?
Maybe they remembered that Jesus was?
But that was so 2000 years ago. Why go back?
allison - there is a lot that churches do today that “was so 2000 years ago.” i’m guessing that isn’t a good criteria for what we should and shouldn’t do in the church today. …or maybe it is! the reason MCOC does a passover seder is because of how it makes the communion feast that we do week in and week out more meaningful and more real and more grounded. it’s also one more experience we can go through to help us feel closer to Jesus because he was, as my sister points out, a Jew.
Just as Katie and Joe pointed out, Jesus, himself was Jewish, and he celebrated the feast of passover. If Christians strive to live like Jesus did, why shouldn’t we celebrate passover, as well?
